Transformers Rise of the Beasts, the highly anticipated first film in Paramount Pictures’ planned trilogy for its live-action Transformers franchise, was previewed during this year’s Super Bowl. The trailer revealed a brand new Autobot, Mirage, who will make his mark as a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8.
The film, directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, was originally set for a June 24, 2022 release, but has been postponed to June 9, 2023. In Japan, the film will be known as Transformers: Beast Kakusei.
A star-studded cast of voices, including Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, and more, bring life to the characters in the film. The screenplay, written by Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters, and more, promises to deliver a nostalgic 90’s globetrotting adventure filled with the action and spectacle that has captivated moviegoers worldwide.
The movie will introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the ongoing battle between the Autobots and Decepticons on earth.
In 2020, Paramount Pictures announced it was developing two scripts for the live-action Transformers films. One of the projects, reportedly based on Beast Wars: Transformers, was written by James Vanderbilt (Murder Mystery, Independence Day: Resurgence).
The other project, which was inspired by the sixth film in the series, Bumblebee, was being written by Joby Harold (John Wick Chapter 3, Army of the Dead). Although it was not confirmed which project would go into production, it seems that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the chosen project.”
