Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen (ROTF) toy line is the second of the live-action movie franchise that was released in 2009. This line preceded the first movie and succeeded by a spin-off line – Hunt For The Decepticons and Transformers 3: Dark Of The Moon. Revenge Of the Fallen is the only movie toy line that contains an alternate spin-off line, Hunt For The Decepticons.

Just like the Automorph technology implemented in the first movie toyline, ROTF adopted a new gimmick that was called Mech Alive. Mech Alive is implemented by the Autobots to improve their effectiveness in the battlefield. The two main mechanism that forms Mech Alive’s primary function. The first is the ‘gearings’ that was used to reinforce armour providing them advantages in resisting attacks. Second is ‘reflexes’ where aiming precision is perfected with improved attacking power.
