Transformers Animated toy line is based off Hasbro and Cartoon Networks’ cartoon series that was debuted on 1st July 2007 but postponed to 22nd June 2008 to give way Transformers Movie.
The designs of this toy line is based on more expressive design of the cartoon featuring poseable forms different like never before. The franchise is a straight-out line with no line-wide gimmicks such as Mini-Cons, Cyberkeys etc. The only gimmick that it possesses is the transformation process itself where each unique character offers special features unique only to that character. Among styles adopted is triple-changing and interchangable tools/weapons.
Transformers Animated designs is the brainchild of Hasbro and the Cartoon Network team with TakaraTomy stepping up later to the fold to engineer the toys.
