Entertainment Tonight is apparently dedicating a chunk of air time to Michael Bay’s latest opus Transformers: Dark of the Moon and they’ve released a short teaser video that shows off some behind-the-scenes footage.
Unsurprisingly, there’s a lot of exploding things, a lot of people (including Josh Duhamel and Shia LaBeouf) standing around staring at things exploding, some people (or possibly robots) parachuting into the middle of Chicago, and Patrick Dempsey is there too.
There’s little sign of the giant CG robots, but there is a brief glimpse of a what appears to be a NASCAR-style stock car tearing ass down the middle of a debris-ridden Chicago street. It’s probably a safe bet that the car is probably going to turn into a robot at some point.
I happened to catch a few glimpses of action passing by the set in Chicago when I was on vacation at the end of July and consisted of lots of destruction as depicted in the clip, which in a Michael Bay film is to be expected.
After REVENGE OF THE FALLEN I would say it is safe to assume that the action and special effects are going to once again be stepped up a notch to ensure a fun summer blockbuster; let’s just hope they present a story full of unintentional laughs and stale jokes.
TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON is set to be released on July 1, 2011. The film is directed by Michael Bay and stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhomel, Tyrese Gibson and Patrick Dempsey.
