Michael Bay was quoted as saying – “Studio’s are passing rumors but I’m not sure what I’m doing? I know I’m going to do Pain and Gain early spring but that’s it for right now. I’m leaving all my options on the table. I’ve got several Studio meetings in the next two weeks.”
It seems like a lot of parties is putting words in Bay’s mouth but when all seemed misleading, the trending in social media sounds promising making the rumour sounds credible at it’s nature.
Just yesterday it was revealed that Bay was looking at Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson to take the lead roles in his $20 million “Pain And Gain,” a “Fargo”-esque tale about a real-life extortion ring and kidnapping plot that goes horribly awry, a plan hatched by a couple of Floridian bodybuilders.
Bay has admitted that he has been trying to make this movie for years evey way before Dark Of The Moon, and through the press rounds for “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon” he insisted this would be next. And it may be, but those glittery robots are looming in the background.
Vulture reports that Paramount is trying to tell Bay that ‘Pain’ can’t do without doing “Transformers 4” first even the source cautioned its readers that nothing is in place right now for Bay to helm either movie at the studio, though official word could apparently in the weeks to come.
If it does happen, we can expect “Pain And Gain” to shoot in the spring with “Transformers” getting ready for the winter shoot.
While the trend of previous sci-fi films tend to endeavour the prequel route, Transformers will not emulate that. It was claimed that the film “will delve deeper into Transformers canon to mine older characters and lore.”
At any rate, nothing is official just yet, and having said that, the temptational pay is probably pretty great and you can never underestimate the lure of the almighty dollar.
