Shia LaBeouf, Michael Bay, and Tyrese Gibson braved the crowds of screaming fans in L.A. at a special IMAX screening of ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ trailer — and ET was there!
Shia tells Mark Steines why he feels there is so much excitement surrounding the movie, which includes key sequences shot in IMAX.
“It’s escapism,” he says. “The movie is not overtly complicated. It wasn’t built for extreme pontification or self exploration. It’s built for fun and enjoyment and escapism.
It’s the only movie that I’ve ever been a part of where you can drive down the street and literally see decals of your movies on other cars.”
In the action packed sequel the robots in disguise the Autobots, return to protect Sam Witwicky (LaBeouf) who has been taken prisoner by their sworn enemies, the Deceptions.
‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ hits IMAX and conventional movie theaters on June 24.
