Fans are getting a surprise when Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy-Earthrise, which was meant to tease the second part of the new Transformers saga.
With the first part of the War for Cybertron trilogy being such a success earlier this summer, it’s great to see that we’re already getting hints of the new installment. This new teaser trailer was released today at Hasbro’s Pulse Con.
Transformers: War for Cybertron-Earthrise sets the scene where the first part leaves off, with the war continuing between Optimus Prime and the Autobots and Megatron and his Decepticons. Optimus Prime’s actions at the end of the first installment mean that things are more desperate than ever for both sides:
Visually, this teaser trailer looks great and promises plenty of action, not only on Cybertron itself, but wherever Optimus Prime and his followers have ended up. Interestingly, wherever they are, it doesn’t appear to be Earth, which means the Transformers origin story is definitely going in a different direction (which is exciting!).
With the Allspark gone, Megatron is forced to confront the harsh reality that his Decepticons are trapped on a dying Cybertron. Meanwhile, lost in the darkest reaches of space, Optimus Prime and his team embark on a desperate mission, unexpectedly running into … the spacefaring Mercenaries.
There’s no release date for Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy-Earthrise as yet, but hopefully it will be coming sooner rather than later.
