The Transformers have been around for thousands of years, in their time. In our time, we’ve had about 30 or so. In either time frame, they’re awesome.
With the two recent Transformer films doing so well in theaters, and the revival of classic toons sparking (pun!) everyone’s interest, Discovery and Hasbro decided they’d take advantage of this for their new network, The Hub, and launch an all new series, Transformers Prime.
The CG toon is built in the world of generation one, when Optimus Prime did regular battle with Megatron. They’ve even gone so far as bringing back many of the original voice actors from the 1980s toon for the definitive cartoon, including: Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Gina Torres, James Remer, Josh Keaton, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Markie Post.
With the sneak peek, we are also provided an official show description, which you may read below: TRANSFORMERS PRIME chronicles the triumphant return of the Autobots via the most cutting-edge CG animation ever seen on television. The series deepens the epic mythology of the Autobots and Decepticons, while starting fresh for a new generation of fans.
