TakaraTomy has never failed to impress us when Hasbro did. What is most acceptable of them though running out of ideas in producing new off-screen characters for our treat, they made awesome retools of existing figures.
They have officially revealed that DA28 which has been much of a talk in town recently, will be their Transformers Darkside Moon Mechtech Striker Optimus Prime. Striker Optimus Prime has been seen in an obscured listing back in June during the height of DOTM mania.
As seen in the photos, Striker Optimus Prime is a remold, making use of the previous Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Optimus Prime (best LC OP ever!) as their base mold.
This powerhouse comes with three brand-new Mechtech weapons that is a shield as well as two piece combinable cannon blasters.
In alternate mode, the shield can be fitted on the front of the vehicle as hood protector and extra spoilers thus giving him a brand new menacing look. The weapons as usual can be attached to either side of the vehicle as Battle Mode as suggested by Takara.
Another bonus, is the figure comes with a more movie-accurate color scheme. What makes it special is a Mechtech Card will also be included, which may be scanned with a mobile phone.
This highly sought after DA28 Striker Optimus Prime will be out October – November 2011
