While Michael Bay is persistently saying no to Transformers sequel, Paramount Pictures has wasted no time but working hard at brainstorming ideas for Transformers 4, according to Viacom CEO Philipe Dauman.
The executive revealed these tidbits during a recent conference call – where he also discussed plans for a new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.
Now that Transformers 4 is officially in the “idea” stage, we can probably expect a deluge of stories about whether or not Michael Bay and Shia LaBeouf will return to the franchise. Hasbro, meanwhile, is thrilled by the idea of another film.
Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner has said “It would be silly for us not to talk about having another Transformers movie.” Silly indeed, since the last film has grossed over a billion dollars to date.
The sign is clear Transformers 4 is a definite go-ahead but Michael Bay’s status is yet unknown.
