Don’t expect Shia LaBeouf, star of the “Transformers” series of movies and the upcoming “Wall Street 2”, to be fronting any green campaigns anytime soon. The 24-year-old actor admits that he’s not exactly friendly to the planet — but eventually hopes to turn that all around.
“I’m gonna be honest with you, I’m not (environmentally friendly),” he told WENN. “I drive a truck, I’m a loser that way. I’ll figure it out eventually but I’m not the greatest guy…”
“I’m horrible, horrible, horrible. My mum hates me for it,” he added. “Sometimes I put the can in the right bin, sometimes I don’t. I have to be better about it, I know, and I’m sorry world.”
Environment aside, LaBeouf has worked hard on behalf of several charities — including running all 26.2 miles of the L.A. Marathon in March to raise funds for nonprofit site U.S. VETS.
He’s also worked with the group Declare Yourself, which encourages voting and participation, and with Hillsides, which creates safe places for children, strengthens families, provides special education. He is also an advocate for children’s rights.
