While Transformers 4 is still being speculated generally, some productions have started emulating the Bayhem style of movie making which include hi-tech sci-fi effects such as the one featured below. Do read on if this is what Transformers 4 going to look like?
In today’s day and age, a film about navy fleets duking it out on the high seas doesn’t cut it. Insert aliens, mystery and a large budget and we have Battleship, a film inspired by the Milton Bradley board game and one that James Cameron uses to exemplify the film industry’s lack of creativity.
Another one of the many films that didn’t make an appearance at Comic-Con International 2011, Peter Berg’s Battleship instead has its debut trailer release a few days after the big event. While it’s a shame we didn’t get to see it and its cast on stage in San Diego to talk about the film last week, the trailer was worth the wait… If you were looking forward to Transformers 4.
Featuring a cast of up-and-coming stars, the sci-fi actioner, Battleship, is set to debut next summer as one of the headlining 2012 blockbusters. Outside of casting announcements and seeing a few set photos of stars Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna, very little has been revealed about the film that began shooting nearly a year ago until yesterday when the official Battleship movie website went live, featuring a countdown timer, indicating the launch time of the Battleship movie trailer.

Battleship tells the tale of Earthly naval forces going up against The Regents, aliens whose ship(s) have touched down in the ocean. They’ve been described as spider-like creatures but we’ve not seen what they and their ships are all about until now, with the release of the first ever Battleship movie trailer.
Peter Berg has been hanging out with Michael Bay too much or he’s vying to take over the director’s chair from him for Transformers 4. From the aesthetic and cinematography to the characters and alien designs, Battleship feels as if were ripped straight from Bay’s repertoire.
Battleship looks fun in flash-over-substance sort of way, but if you’re looking for compelling narrative and characters, this isn’t that summer film. “Prepare to Fire” says Liam Neeson’s Admiral Shane. “Sir, which weapons.” Shane: “All of them.” Powerful stuff.
Battleship is written by Erich & Jon Hoeber and stars Liam Neeson (Unknown), Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood), Taylor Kitsch (John Carter), Josh Pence (The Dark Knight Rises), Brooklyn Decker (Just Go With It), Rihanna and Tadanobu Asano (Thor).
Battleship hits theaters May 18, 2012.
