Next year, Universal Singapore has got a lot in store for visitors with not one, but two large attractions scheduled to open up for the first time ever. Fans of the Transformers movies will be pleased with one of the new attractions, as it is based off the Transformers movies. The other attraction scheduled to open will be based off the popular Madagascar movies from the last few years.
Both of these attractions have long been anticipated due to numerous delays in their grand openings, but next year looks to be the time everyone has been waiting for regarding these two new rides.
The new Transformers ride is going to be a dark ride involving 3-D high definition video footage effects as well as moving robotics, all while riders in a car are transported through the various scenes. The ride concept and technology is going to be very similar to the renowned Spiderman attraction at Universal’s Island of Adventure in Orlando, Florida.
Riders will experience scenes from the actual movies and be right in the middle of all the action. The Transformers ride was first announced in June 2009 for a 2010 opening, but technical issues has caused a lot of the long delays. A version of Transformers is also scheduled to open at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2012. These two versions are also rumored to be different from each other according to Screamscape.
The other long anticipated ride, Madagascar: A Crate Adventure, will be a themed boat ride taking riders through highly themed areas based straight out of the Madagascar films created by DreamWorks. Screamscape says that a fire had previously potentially damaged a lot of the route of the Madagascar ride, causing its long delays. Major technical problems are said to have played a part in this delay as well, and some portions of the ride may even have to be removed or fixed prior to opening due to all the technical issues.
Madagascar: A Crate Adventure and Transformers hope to be worth the long wait for visitors to Universal Singapore. Universal Studios Singapore still drew over 1 million visitors during its opening season, even without these two key attractions. With these rides expected to open next season, expect attendance at the park to only rise as long awaited guests come to experience the highly anticipated attractions.
