Sideswipe is an all new tooling, with a different transformation scheme compared to the previous Deluxe versions of the character. Sideswipe changes into a Corvette Stingray concept convertible in a light grey/beige color scheme and open top. The interior is highly detailed, with seats, dashboard and steering wheel all molded into the compartment, though it’s missing its floorboards.
The box art and the instructions can’t seem to agree which way the tail lights (which are his toe/heel spurs) are supposed to point in robot mode – the stock photo used on the card and main instruction image show them pointing forward, while the instructions themselves indicate they should point backward, implying it is probably the correct way. His arm blades are now a single piece, rather than the two piece blades from previous molds.
