Transformers Dark of The Moon Dodges The Razzies

RAZZIE WUT?

Transformers Dark of The Moon much hated by movie critics have earlier plunged the movie into Razzie’s list awards that have taken place yesterday.

For those who don’t know, Razzie is a short for the ‘Golden Raspberry Award’ where it is an award presented in recognition of the worst in film. Founded by American copywriter and publicist John J. B. Wilson in 1981, the annual Razzie Awards ceremony in Los Angeles precedes the corresponding Academy Awards ceremony by one day. The term raspberry in the name is used in its irreverent sense, as in “blowing a raspberry”. The awards themselves typically cost $4.97 each, in the form of a “golfball-sized raspberry” which sits atop a Super 8 mm film reel, the whole of which is spray-painted gold.

Luckily Transformers: Dark of the Moon “won” zero Razzies when the winners were announced on April Fools Day.

However earlier on, the third movie in Michael Bay’s trilogy have received seven nominations in the 10 “Worst of” categories which Michael Bay responded to with his own math for the movie.

The end result was swept clean by Adam Sandler and his movie Jack & Jill where the flick made a much of record by being the first movie to sweep all the categories in the awards’ 32 year history.
