Transformers Dark of The Moon mega producer Michael Bay has listed his Montecito mansion just outside of Santa Barbara on the market for a cool $6.8 mil.
The 4 bedroom, 4 bath rooms, 5400 square foot retreat, which was designed by award-winning Santa Barbara architect Jan Hochhauser, features seriously beautiful mountain, ocean and island views.
The home centers around a soaring two story living space topped by a glass barrel ceiling, with large picture windows in all the ocean facing rooms. The kitchen and dining area open up to the yard and infinity pool, which is surrounded by a patio with fire pit. The house sits on an extensively landscaped 1.3 acre lot, with gated entry and a three-car garage.
Besides the multi-million dollar price tag, the lucky new owner is going to have to pony up what almost amounts to the United States’ median household income in property taxes alone. Public records show that last year’s tax bill came to $43,331.
That probably wasn’t a problem for Bay though, since his latest film “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” has pulled in a whopping $349,614,219 (and counting) since its 2011 summer release date.
