China is no doubt a Transformers power house where one of the biggest fanbase of the franchise dwells here in this communist nation. Due to the fact that the fanbase was really that big, the government had delayed the screening of the film to give way to their local propaganda blockbuster – The Founding of a Party.
Even though the domestic film was made ‘mandatory’ for every Chinese citizen to watch, they were faced a daunting task to fill up the theatres as, no one was actually interested to watch it.
One Shanghai cinema operator figured out how to solve the problem by sell the tickets together with the highly anticipated Transformers Dark Of The Moon by bundling them together! Read on the excerpt from Shanghaiist:

“According to one internet user, Cai Yang cinema is taking advantage of the massive popularity of Transformers 3 by selling tickets bundled with the new domestic film Yangshan Zhou — a Communist biopic about one of the CCP’s newest heroes.
To make matters worse, the user reports the prices for the two tickets weren’t even comparable: I spent 80 yuan (US$12.4) for the 3D version of Transformers 3 at the cinema, and received two tickets. They said that I was free to watch the second film or not. The complementary ticket sells for 60 yuan, while the Transformers 3 ticket only sells for 20 yuan.
An ironic turn of events, considering Yangshan Zhou is idolized, among other reasons, for resisting temptations to profit from his office.
While we here at Shanghaiist certainly support the domestic film industry, we hope that theaters will find a better way to convince moviegoers to shell out their hard-earned-yuan on domestic films.
No word yet if Michael Bay saw the CCP flick on his visit to Shanghai or if he was overheard commenting on the lack of gratuitous CGI.”
How miserably done! Kudos to CCP? No.
