It was announced in Tformers that the prices of Transformers action figures in Europe is experiencing a tremendous increase. For example in Belgium, there is a 5 Euros increase for a 15 Euros deluxe action figure to 20 Euros. Technically, that is around 33% increase!Voyager class is not getting better compared to deluxes as it has experienced 44% increase from 25 Euro to 36 Euro and shockingly leader class hiked over 55% from 45 Euro to 70 Euro.
While writing this, US is still enjoying the benefits of still being the most reasonably priced Transformers action figures at the moment.
Malaysia is not doing any better as the downsizing irks alot of fans. There is a rumour (almost credible) that says next month especially right during the movie screening season, Malaysian Transformers toy prizing will shoot up another 10%. How true is this we will see in the next coming week.
I am not surprised that DOTM toys will end up as shelf warmers due to the disgust over the pricing and sizing. Hasbro better listen up and shape up otherwise ship out!
Oh no… Transformers-collecting is getting to be an even more expensive hobby. I still remember the days when Voyager-class figure would cost you RM89.90… Now, the price has already shot up to RM119 — a figure that was once more associated to Ultra-class figures… Hopefully, the price won't go up… Keep your fingers crossed, people!!!
well, it has to do with current economic climate in malaysia (if you know what i mean :)). i hope toy prices can go down like the way it used to be in the 80's. at the moment is better to shop smart than buying them impulsively…wait till 2-3 months down the road and grab those discounted shelf-warmers or get them from ebay, mudah etc.
