GM Hummer Sold To Chinese
General Motors announced today that they have sold their entire stake in the Hummer brand to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery and a group of private investors. Sichuan now owns 80% of the company, Autoblog reports.
The deal includes manufacturing to continue in the two plans that GM already uses to produce the Hummer trucks through June of 2011, with a possible extension until 2012.
This is just enough time for the Hummer H2, the vehicle mode of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Ratchet to live on for Transformers 3, set for a release of July 1, 2011.
It is unknown what will happen with Ironhide, since GM killed off the GMC Topkick earlier this year.
