Still, opposite to what has been suggested previously, veteran actor Jon Voight would not return as U.S. Secretary of Defense John Keller in the second movie.
Revealing the truth on the casting part, the father of actress Angelina Jolie confirmed his exclusion through an interview with Collider at the 34th Annual Saturn Awards on Tuesday, June 24. On the occasion, he confessed that though he was surprised with the success of the first movie, he is not coming back to work on the sequel instead he is going to portray the newest foe for Jack Bauer in the next season of television series "24".
Earlier, the speculation of the 69-year-old return to the sequel has been sparked by fellow "Transformers" co-star Tyrese Gibson. The former model hinted that the co-star of Will Smith in "Ali" will be back in an interview with CHUD stating, "I just talked to Shia [LaBeouf] a second ago, and left John Voight a message 15 minutes ago."
Starring once again Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro and Gibson, "Revenge of the Fallen" is said to bring more action and robots to the live action film adaptation of the "Transformers" franchise. The movie that is currently undergoing its principal photography is directed by Michael Bay using script from Ehren Kruger, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
Much of the details from the film set to be released on June 26, 2009 are still being kept under tight wraps, but earlier report has suggested that its leading human character, Sam Witwicky, has been affected by an object from the destroyed cube.
