Two popular action figure toys will have shows premiering on the The Hub (Hasbro’s’ new kid network channel) on November 26: G.I. Joe: Renegades and Transformers: Prime. Computer animation will be used for the Transformers: Prime series.
The series will no doubt thrill Transformer fans and possibly attract new ones. Peter Cullen will voice Optimus Prime, and Frank Welker will voice Megatron. Cullen voiced Optimus Prime in both blockbuster Transformer films.
And he will lend his voice to Optimus Prime again in the upcoming Transformers: The Dark of the Moon, which is scheduled to open in the U.S. on July 1, 2011. Welker has done a lot of voice work as well and voiced four different characters in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009).
G.I. Joe: Renegades is sure to be action-packed as well. Some of the actors who will voice characters in this live-action animated series include Lee Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man), Charlie Adler (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Clancy Brown (Shawshank Redemption), Jason Marsden (Batman: The Brave and the Bold), Johnny Messner (Tears of the Sun) and Kevin Michael Richardson (The Batman).
In addition to Transformers: Prime and G.I. Joe: Renegades, The Hub has announced several other new shows, including Pictureka!, The Adventures of Chuck and Friends, In the Night Garden, Dennis and Gnasher, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour,Clue and Hubworld. So it looks The Hub is the new network to watch.
