Transformers has never been closer to the Chinese mainland ever since Revenge of The Fallen and Movie 1 made it big over there.
Chinese love Transformers so much that many conventions and toy expos are occasionally flooded with cloned Bumblebee and lookalikes and of course giant statues made from metal.
With creativity, they managed to take a bunch of junk and welding it together to construct giant Transformers statues seems to be something of a new national past time in China as two new ones have popped up in the last few days.
The first is a statue made by a bunch of students that seems to be inspired by movie Optimus Prime by making good use of a Jie Fang old military truck.
The latest one was this huge statue of the famous fictional leader of the “good” transformers Autobots, Optimus Prime, can be today viewed in the Bird’s Nest at Beijing Olympic Park.
The 10-meter tall upcycled statue was constructed using various parts of trucks, cars etc. Despite the fact that the robot cannot transform like the Optimus Prime in Michael Bay’s movie, it certainly catches the eye of those passing by.
