Robert Zemeckis
Won the Oscar for Best Director for 1994’s Forrest Gump Directoral Highlights: The Polar Express (2004) Cast Away (2000) Forrest Gump (1994) The Back to the Future Trilogy (1995, 1989, 1990) Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) Mr. Zemeckis may well be a good candidate for the job of bringing the Transformers to a level of real we haven’t seen before. He has a long history of special effects films as well as solid drama pieces. But is he a Transfan? Does he know how to make these characters truly alive for the audience? Joseph Kahn
Directoral Highlights:
Torque That’s right Transfans, Mr. Kahn has released only one feature film. He does however have a number of music videos on his directoral resumee. From IMDB: “One of the biggest and most respected music video directors working today. Has directed dozens of videos for such varied top artists such as U2, Sisqo, Moby, DMX, Backstreet Boys, Brandy, Monica, Destiny’s Child, Enrique Iglesias, Foxxy Brown, Ice Cube, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Eminem.”

Paul W.S. Anderson
Directoral Highlights: Aliens vs. Predator (2004) Resident Evil (2002) Soldier (1998) Event Horizon (1997) Mortal Kombat (1995) Mr. Anderson clearly has a love for genre films, and has mentioned several times that he’s a fan of comics and video games. Would his directoral style work for Transformers though?
