It looks likely that scenes from the third installment of the sci-fi franchise "Transformers" will be shot in the city, and the producers have inquired about filming on Michigan Avenue.
"They are looking at very identifiable places that say, 'Chicago' in a hurry, and Michigan Avenue is one of those," said Rich Moskal, director of the Chicago Film Office.
Shia LaBeouf, the movie's star, is familiar with the Mag Mile. He was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing after refusing to leave the Walgreens at 757 N. Michigan in November 2007. Police said LaBeouf appeared to be intoxicated, but prosecutors dropped the charges after Walgreens declined to proceed with the case.
